Almost everyone has watched either Breaking Bad or the spin-off series, Better Call Saul. If you are one of these viewers then we are almost certain you are familiar with the character, Saul Goodman. He is a practicing attorney who has been called everything in the books, from a criminal lawyer who thinks like a criminal, to a con artist known as Slippin’ Jimmy. What makes this character so great is the he is so exaggerated and over the top. He represents all the stereotypes that come to mind when you think of a defense attorney. Despite all of Saul’s lovable flaws, he does have some characteristics that you would actually want in a good attorney. He simply takes it too far, ignores ethics, and flat out breaks the law. As fans of the show, we wanted to give our thoughts on the good traits that Saul has, and how those can be applied to providing great representation to your clients.

Would you want Saul on your side?
If Saul could just keep his nose clean and not cross the lines that should never be crossed, he would make an amazing attorney. As a firm we have been binge watching the show in anticipation for season 2, which is about three episodes in right now. It has been interesting from our legal perspective to watch a small local lawyer, Jimmy McGill turn into the fast talking, lovable shyster Saul Goodman. What do you think?
